Quincy University’s Choirs will join the Quincy Symphony Chorus, Culver-Stockton College Choir, and JWCC Chorus in a performance with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. The concert will be on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Quincy Junior High School Morrison Theater, 100 S. 14th St. in Quincy.

This ancient Latin and Middle High German text was set to music by Orff in the 1930’s and is still among the most famous and well-respected orchestral/choral works of the 20th century repertoire.

“We are excited to have the QU Choirs perform in this world class performance,” said Christine Damm, DMA, dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication. “They will have the opportunity to sing on stage with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra, area choirs, and exceptional soloists in Quincy’s beautiful Morrison Theater. In addition to the QU Choir members, all full time QU music faculty and several adjuncts will be performing as well.”
