Quincy University welcomes alumnus Mark Tyrpin ‘97 as the featured speaker at the President’s Leadership Breakfast hosted by Dr. Brian McGee, QU president. The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29 in the QU Cafeteria, 18th & Lind.

Tyrpin is the president of Mercantile Bank, a United Community Bank, a position he has held for 13 years. He has 36 years of banking experience in Quincy in various lending and management capacities including Bank America, First Federal Bank (Quincy) and Heartland Bank. Tyrpin is an active board member on the Richard A Perritt Charitable Foundation, a private foundation in Chicago, Illinois, and on the Ronald McDonald House of Central Illinois. He has also served numerous board positions in Quincy in the past. Tyrpin earned his MBA from QU in ’97 and serves as a business instructor for the Oakley School of Business at QU and for the Illinois Bankers Association and Wisconsin Bankers Association.

The President’s Leadership Breakfast Series is a regular campus event where community leaders share their knowledge on different topics. While enjoying a buffet-style breakfast, local business professionals and government officials join QU faculty, staff, and students to network and converse with each other. Each breakfast features a guest speaker that will share about their organization or cause and how they have demonstrated leadership.
